About Us

October 8th, 2007

Each year, hurricanes, tornados, floods, earthquakes and other catastrophic events unexpectedly strike our country. Some are of such magnitude that they overwhelm a community’s ability to recover on it’s own. The emotional impact of such a traumatic event may be felt for years, and to many who have lost everything, a lifetime.

CityTeam’s Disaster Response is prepared to mobilize at a moment’s notice in the event of man made or natural disasters. Employing our unique approach, we first address immediate needs and then work within a community to address long-term recovery by assisting individuals and families in rebuilding their lives.

CityTeam is a registered 501C3 non-profit, non-denominational Christian organization serving the needs of the poor and homeless. For over 50 years, CityTeam has provided life saving food, shelter, recovery programs, individual and group counseling, medical clinics, and other essential tools for men, women and children to change their lives. We provide hope and help to become self sufficient again.

CityTeam’s Disaster Response efforts began in October, 1989 by sheltering and caring for the victims of the Loma Prieta earthquake that hit Santa Cruz, California. Since responding to both the Tsunami (2004) and Hurricane Katrina (2005) our experience and expertise has grown, resulting in our unique approach to long term disaster recovery.
